NTPC Korba’s GEM Role Model Initiative Inspires Girls to Dream Big

Korba, June 3: Reinforcing its commitment to empowering young girls through confidence-building, leadership development and holistic learning, NTPC Korba organised a series of inspirational sessions under its Girl Empowerment Mission (GEM) Role Model Initiative, providing participants with an opportunity to interact with accomplished professionals from diverse fields.

The initiative is aimed at exposing young girls to real-life success stories and experiences, helping them broaden their perspectives and gain valuable guidance for their future aspirations.

As part of the programme, the GEM participants interacted with Premlata Yadav, Divisional Forest Officer, Korba, on May 30. Sharing insights from her professional journey in forest administration and environmental conservation, she highlighted the importance of dedication, discipline, integrity and continuous learning in achieving success.

Encouraging the girls to remain focused on their goals, Yadav said that determination and hard work are essential to overcoming challenges and realising one’s ambitions. She also stressed the need for environmental responsibility and urged the participants to actively contribute towards nature conservation.

“Every challenge presents an opportunity to learn and grow. With perseverance, courage and commitment, no goal is beyond reach,” she told the participants.

The initiative continued on June 1 with an interactive session featuring Rajshree Gupte, Principal Correspondent of DD News and All India Radio, Korba, and Sadhna Sharma, Academic Director, MLC College, Korba.

Addressing the gathering, Rajshree Gupte underscored the importance of effective communication, curiosity and staying informed in a rapidly changing world. Drawing from her experience in journalism and broadcasting, she encouraged the girls to express themselves confidently and uphold the values of truth, integrity and lifelong learning.

She noted that strong communication skills can open new opportunities and enable individuals to make meaningful contributions to society.

Sadhna Sharma highlighted the transformative role of education in shaping character, confidence and future success. She encouraged the participants to maintain a positive outlook, remain dedicated to their studies and make the most of every learning opportunity.

Emphasising self-discipline and perseverance, Sharma urged the girls to believe in their abilities and pursue their goals with determination.

During the sessions, the speakers collectively emphasised the importance of self-confidence, leadership, resilience and continuous personal growth. They inspired the participants to set ambitious goals, face challenges with courage and contribute positively to society.

The sessions witnessed enthusiastic participation from the GEM girls, who actively engaged with the speakers and raised insightful questions on career opportunities, environmental conservation, media, education and personal development.
