Raipur, June 23, 2026/ Terming the nation’s fight against Naxalism as a triumph of holistic development and public confidence, Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has stated that the government’s resolute pledge to completely root out Left-Wing Extremism has yielded promising results across the country. He emphasized that regions once paralyzed by fear, violence, and deep-seated mistrust have now transitioned into a promising new era defined by progressive infrastructure, good governance, and life-changing opportunities for the local populace.
Reflecting on the historical challenges of these zones, Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi said that common people were previously forced to live under a perpetual shadow of fear, constantly anxious about their personal safety, livelihoods, and basic dignity. Initiating any developmental project was an uphill task, as every progressive effort ranging from laying critical roads to expanding telecommunication networks faced violent resistance from Naxalites. Infrastructure materials were routinely set ablaze, and contractors were threatened and driven away in deliberate attempts to keep these regions isolated from progress.
Despite these challenges, the Central Government accorded topmost priority to bringing development to the heart of Naxal-affected areas. over the past years, thousands of kilometers of all-weather roads have been constructed, thousands of mobile towers erected, and modern communication facilities extended to the remotest of villages. Alongside physical connectivity, the expansion of banking services, postal networks, and robust financial inclusion initiatives have successfully bridged the gap between isolated communities and the national mainstream. Prime Minister Shri Modi highlighted that this transformation extends far beyond concrete and cables. It represents a profound restoration of trust and the widening of socio-economic horizons for families who felt left behind.
The Prime Minister further clarified that the battle against Naxalism was never fought purely through the lens of military force, bombs, or bullets. Instead, the government maintained an equal and deeply compassionate focus on fulfilling the genuine hopes and aspirations of ordinary citizens. Continuous efforts were channeled toward delivering grassroots welfare schemes to the very last person in the social strata, securing the rights of marginalized tribal communities, and reinforcing their faith in democratic institutions. This human-centric approach is why public trust in the democratic framework and developmental processes has grown exponentially.
Turning his focus to Bastar, Prime Minister Shri Modi observed that the region, once marred by the grim realities of terror and conflict, is now witnessing a vibrant resurgence driven by the talent and constructive energy of its youth. He cited the massive, enthusiastic participation of hundreds of thousands of young individuals in initiatives like the Bastar Olympics as a powerful testament to this generational shift. This paradigm shift proves that the region’s youth are wholeheartedly choosing the pathways of education, competitive sports, and institutional growth over the destructive path of violence.

Chief Minister Shri Sai emphasized that through the closely coordinated strategy of the Central and State governments, the valour of security personnel, and the active cooperation of the local populace, the dark chapter of Naxalism has effectively drawn to a close. Today, Bastar is no longer identified by conflict, but by community participation, sports, flourishing eco-tourism, and emerging economic possibilities. He added that this metamorphosis is a shining example of Prime Minister Shri Modi’s vision of a Viksit Bharat (Developed India) and his core commitment to Antyodaya—the upliftment of the absolute weakest sections of society. Chief Minister expressed firm confidence that under the Prime Minister’s continuing guidance, Chhattisgarh will establish itself as a national benchmark for development and good governance, with Bastar positioning itself among the fastest-growing regions in the country.
