- 200 Anganwadi Centres Across Bilaspur District Being Upgraded Under ₹4.72 Crore CSR Initiative
Bilaspur, June 08 . South Eastern Coalfields Limited (SECL) inaugurated a Model Anganwadi Centre at Lingiadih, Bilaspur, under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative aimed at strengthening early childhood education and improving grassroots social infrastructure. The centre is part of a larger project under which 200 Anganwadi Centres across Bilaspur district are being modernized with a financial assistance of ₹4.72 crore.
The inauguration was carried out by Shri Biranchi Das, Director (Human Resources), SECL. Speaking on the occasion, he emphasized that quality early childhood education and improved learning facilities play a vital role in laying a strong foundation for the holistic development of children. He expressed confidence that the upgraded centre would provide a more conducive and engaging learning environment for young learners.
Senior officials of SECL, including Shri Ajay Behera, General Manager (CSR), and officers from the CSR Department, were also present during the programme.
The Anganwadi Centre currently has 22 enrolled children. On the occasion, educational materials such as books, pencils, drawing pads, sketch books and other learning aids were distributed among the children. The upgraded facility features child-friendly learning spaces, improved sanitation facilities, educational aids and modern furniture designed to support early childhood development.
It is noteworthy that SECL is implementing several impactful CSR initiatives across Bilaspur district in the fields of education, healthcare and social welfare. Recently, the foundation stone for a state-of-the-art Old Age Home and Divyangjan Rehabilitation Centre, being developed through SECL’s CSR funding at Sakri, Bilaspur, was laid by Hon’ble Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh Shri Vishnu Deo Sai.
