Courtesy and Sensitivity Must Define Administrative Conduct: Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai
Raipur, May,01, 2026/ Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai has issued clear and firm instructions to government officials to make the administrative system more people-centric and sensitive, emphasising that citizens must be treated with courtesy, patience and respect. He stated unequivocally that officials at both headquarters and field levels represent the face of the government, and their conduct directly shapes its public image.
Chief Minister Shri Sai underlined that listening to people is the foremost duty of administrative officers. He cautioned officials to take public grievances seriously and remain focused on solutions. “Dialogue becomes meaningful only when it is rooted in empathy and a genuine intent to resolve problems,” he remarked.
Directing all the departments to make grievance redressal more effective, simple and trustworthy, Shri Sai said that every citizen visiting a government office should feel heard and respected. Such positive experiences are instrumental in building public trust.
He further observed that the success of government schemes cannot be measured merely by statistics, but by the lived experiences of people on the ground. Officials, therefore, must remain actively engaged in the field, interact directly with citizens and tailor their efforts to real needs. Sensitivity and promptness, he stressed, are the true strengths of an effective administration.
Shri Sai directed the officials to make transparency and accountability the foundation of their work. He added that public trust is the government’s greatest capital. To sustain it, integrity must be complemented by courteous and humble behaviour.
“Good governance is not established by policies alone, but by conduct,” Shri Sai further said that when officials adopt a simple, approachable and cooperative attitude and ensure prompt redressal of grievances, the administrative system naturally becomes more effective and complaints begin to decline.
Chief Minister asserted that the vision of a ‘Developed Chhattisgarh can be realised only when governance becomes accessible, sensitive and respectful towards every citizen. He urged officials to adopt this ethos as their guiding principle, ensuring that every individual feels the government stands with them.
Shri Sai also announced that during Sushasan Tihar 2026, he will conduct surprise inspections across various regions, assessing not only officials’ work performance but also their behaviour. He emphasised that sensitivity, courtesy and accountability during public interactions will be closely evaluated.
It is noteworthy that “Sushasan Tihar 2026” is being organised across Chhattisgarh from May 1 to June 10 to ensure prompt and effective resolution of public grievances. Large-scale solution camps will be held in both rural and urban areas, where applications will be received and addressed at the Panchayat and ward levels. The initiative will witness active participation of public representatives, while the Chief Minister himself will undertake surprise visits to review grievance redressal and the implementation of government schemes.
