Students of Classes XI and XII from Shakuntala Vidyalaya, Bhilai, visited the Chhattisgarh Assembly during the Monsoon Session on Tuesday, observing House proceedings and gaining first-hand insight into parliamentary procedures and democratic institutions.
Interacting with the students, Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai said they are the future builders of a developed India and Chhattisgarh, adding that democracy extends beyond voting and enables people’s aspirations to be represented in the Assembly through elected representatives. He said the House deliberates on public issues and frames policies and laws for public welfare.
Assembly Speaker Dr Raman Singh urged the students to remain aware of the Constitution, democratic values and civic responsibilities, saying such educational visits help develop respect for constitutional institutions and inspire responsible citizenship.
During the visit, the students observed Question Hour and legislative debates from the visitors’ gallery and learnt about the Assembly’s functioning and parliamentary procedures. Students described the visit as an enriching experience that deepened their understanding of democracy, the Constitution and the role of elected representatives.
School Education Minister Shri Gajendra Yadav and MLA Shri Rikesh Sen were also present during the visit.
