Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel visited village Chirra, which falls under Rampur Assembly Constituency in Korba district, for his statewide ‘Bhent-Mulakat’ Abhiyan. After Bhent-Mulakat in village Chirra, Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel reached farmer Mr.Subhash Chand Rathiya’s house for lunch.

The family members warmly welcomed him with traditional ‘aarti’, and applied tilak, garlanded him with a paddy made garland, and presenting him with shawl. The Chief Minister enjoyed the delicious taste of Chhattisgarhi cuisine lovingly served by the Rathiya family. The traditional Chhattisgarhi platter included ‘Baigan-Muli ki Khatti Sabji’, Taroi, Aaloo-Parval, Kolar Bhaji, Cholai Bhaji, Kanda Bhaji, Daal, Aam ki Chutney, Papad, Salad, and Pickles.

Farmer Subhash Chand Rathiya, his wife, and children felt honoured to share a meal with the Chief Minister. In return, the Chief Minister expressed his gratitude by presenting them with gifts for their delicious food. The family members were overjoyed to see the Chief Minister dining with them. Mr. Rathiya stated that he farms on his 5 acres of land and that his family is obtaining sufficient rations through the ration card. He also stated that the ‘Half-Electricity Bill Scheme’ has significantly reduced their expenses towards electricity. He thanked the Chief Minister for waiving his laon amount, and providing input subsidies through the ‘Rajiv Gandhi Kisan NYAY Yojana’. He emotionally expressed his gratitude and said the Chief Minister’s visit to his house was a very fortunate event in their lives.

Farmer Subhash has a wife and three children in his family. He has only passed the 12th grade, but he is providing a good education to the children. His elder daughter Kiran is pursuing a BSC from Kartla College; the Chief Minister presented her with a laptop for her keen interest in higher studies and wished all the children a bright future. His younger daughter is studying in the 8th grade at Eklavya Vidyalaya, and his son has passed high school.

Assembly Speaker Mr. Charandas Mahant, Education Minister and Minister in Charge of the Korba district Mr. Premsai Singh Tekam, Revenue Minister Mr. Jaisingh Agarwal, Member of Parliament Mrs. Jyotsna Mahant, and other public representatives were present.
