Chief Minister paid homage to Amar Shaheed Gundadhur, the leader of tribal people on Bhumkal Day

Raipur, February 10 . Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel paid floral tributes to tribal leader Amar Shaheed Gundadhur by offering flowers on the occasion of Bhumkal Memorial Day at his residential office today. On this occasion, Advisor to Chief Minister Mr. Vinod Verma, Chairman of Chhattisgarh State Mineral Development Corporation Mr. Girish Dewangan, Parliamentary Secretary Mr. U.K. D. Minj, MLA Mr. Gulab Kamro and Mr. Devendra Yadav were also present.

Remembering, the sacrifice of the hero Gundadhur, who started the rebellion against the British rule for the tribals’ water, forest and land, will always remain immortal in history, said chief minister Shri Bhupesh Baghel. Meanwhile, On February 10, 1910, the tribals of Bastar raised the bugle of agitation against the British. Tribal leaders played an important role in raising this protest and sacrificed everything.In the Bhumkal rebellion under the leadership of Amar Shaheed Gundadhur, the tribals fought staunchly against the British rule despite limited resources. In his memory, the local people of Chhattisgarh, especially the ancient Dandakaranya region, celebrate Bhumkal Divas every year. As a symbol of tribal consciousness, Martyr Gundadhur will always be alive in the public mind. Bhumkal Divas celebrated in his memory will always give us the courage to raise our voice against exploitation.
