Decision taken at Public-Private Partnership Evaluation Committee meeting chaired by Chief Secretary
Raipur, June 2, 2026/
A key meeting of the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) Evaluation Committee of the Chhattisgarh State Industrial Development Corporation, under the Commerce and Industry Department, was held on Tuesday at Mantralaya under the chairmanship of Chief Secretary Shri Vikas Sheel. The committee held detailed discussions on accelerating major industrial, commercial, and infrastructure projects across the state.
Major projects receive approval
A state-of-the-art Gems and Jewellery Park (Raipur Gems and Jewellery Park) is proposed to be developed at the Agricultural Produce Market Yard (Mandi Road) in Raipur.
To address increasing traffic congestion and the growing movement of heavy vehicles in Bilaspur, a large, fully equipped Transport Nagar will be developed. The facility will include modern amenities such as large warehouses, a logistics hub, extensive parking space, vehicle repair centres, and rest areas for drivers.
A world-class Convention Centre will also be developed in Nava Raipur to host national and international events. The modern business hub will be suitable for corporate events, global business meetings, and exhibitions, helping promote business tourism in Chhattisgarh.
A framework has been prepared to develop all these major projects under the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model.

The high-level meeting was attended by Smt. Sushma Sawant Principal Secretary of Law and Legislative Affairs Department, Dr Rohit Yadav Secretary of Finance Department, Shri Rajat Kumar Secretary of Commerce and Industry Department, Shri Ashish Bhatt Member Secretary of NITI Aayog, Smt Sheetal Shashwat Verma Special Secretary of Finance Department, and senior officials of the Chhattisgarh State Industrial Development Corporation.
