Bilaspur, May 18: South Eastern Coalfields Limited (SECL) inaugurated its much-awaited “Summer Camp 2026” for the children of employees at SECL Headquarters, Bilaspur, in a vibrant and enthusiastic atmosphere on Monday. The camp was formally inaugurated by SECL Director (Human Resources) Biranchi Das through the ceremonial lighting of the lamp.
The inaugural ceremony was held at DAV Public School, SECL Vasant Vihar, marking the beginning of the 21-day summer camp themed “21 Days of Fun, Fitness & Learning.” The camp will be conducted across various operational areas of South Eastern Coalfields Limited from May 18 to June 10, 2026.
Senior officials from SECL Headquarters, along with representatives of the JCC, Welfare Committee, SC/ST Council and CISTEA/OBC Association, were present on the occasion.
Addressing the gathering, Director (HR) Biranchi Das said that such initiatives play a significant role in enhancing children’s personality development, self-confidence and creative abilities. He encouraged children to actively participate not only in academics but also in sports, arts, culture and innovation-oriented activities.
The summer camp will feature a wide range of activities including fitness and sports, arts and crafts, music, dance, creative workshops, robotics, personality development sessions, and several educational and recreational programmes. The initiative aims to provide children with a platform to nurture their talents, acquire new skills and develop teamwork and leadership qualities.
The inaugural programme witnessed tremendous enthusiasm among the participating children, with the colourful and lively atmosphere adding to the spirit of the event.
SECL reiterated its commitment towards employee welfare and the holistic development of their families, stating that such initiatives contribute significantly towards building a positive and progressive social environment.
