Raipur, February 10, 2025: The Chhattisgarh government, under the leadership of Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai, has achieved historic success in its efforts to eradicate Naxalism. The state’s effective policies and development-oriented approach have created an environment of sustained peace and security.
Chief Minister Shri Sai stated that under the double-engine government, in the last 13 months, 305 Naxals have been eliminated, 1,177 arrested, and 985 have surrendered. These figures not only reflect the government’s commitment and strategic efficiency but also demonstrate that Chhattisgarh is rapidly moving towards peace and development, free from Naxal violence.
A Comprehensive Approach to Resolving the Naxal Issue
Chief Minister Sai emphasized that the Naxal issue is not just a security challenge but also a socio-economic and developmental challenge. His government has adopted a holistic approach to address the problem. Special rehabilitation programs have been designed for surrendered Naxals, offering them employment opportunities, financial assistance, and reintegration into mainstream society. These rehabilitation policies are not only bringing positive changes in their lives but also fostering an atmosphere of peace and trust in society.
Chief Minister Shri Sai noted that the arrest of 1,177 Naxals is a result of the government’s strong security policy. The Central and State government have equipped security forces with advanced weapons, modern training, and better coordination, ensuring that Naxal operations are dismantled at their roots. Strict legal actions are being taken against arrested Naxals to strengthen law and order in the state.
From Surrender to Social Reintegration: The Government’s Vision
Chief Minister Sai reiterated that his government’s priority is not just to encourage Naxals to surrender but also to ensure that they reintegrate into society with dignity. Special rehabilitation schemes have been developed to provide employment and vocational training to surrendered Naxals. Additionally, rapid infrastructural development is being carried out in Naxal-affected regions, including roads, electricity, education, healthcare, and employment generation.
These development initiatives have not only instilled confidence in local tribal communities but also encouraged youth to abandon violence and join the mainstream. As a result, Naxal-affected areas are gradually transitioning towards peace and prosperity.
The government has adopted a more effective and long-term strategy to tackle the Naxal problem. Chief Minister Sai affirmed that his administration aims to make Chhattisgarh not only Naxal-free but also a symbol of peace and development. The government’s long-term plans include encouraging industrial investment, expanding education and healthcare services and enhancing skill development opportunities for youth in tribal areas. With 985 surrenders and 1,177 arrests, Chhattisgarh is not only progressing toward peace but also establishing new benchmarks for development. This achievement serves as strong evidence of the state’s transition from Naxal violence to lasting peace and prosperity.
