Deputy Chief Minister Shri Arun Sao Expresses Gratitude to Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and Union Minister Shri Nitin Gadkari

Raipur, 9 October 2024/ Deputy Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh and Minister of Public Works, Shri Arun Sao, has expressed his gratitude to Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways, Shri Nitin Gadkari, for the approval of Rs 892.36 crore for the development of eight road projects in the state. Shri Sao stated that under the dynamic leadership of Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai, Chhattisgarh is witnessing all-round development. He further added that the Central Government has been providing continuous support for the construction of roads in the state. It is noteworthy that Union Minister Shri Nitin Gadkari had given in-principle approval to this proposal during a meeting held in New Delhi on 30th September with Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai and Deputy Chief Minister Shri Arun Sao.

The Public Works Department of the state government had submitted a proposal to the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways on 9th September 2024, seeking approval for the development of a total of 323.9 kilometers of road stretches across six districts in Chhattisgarh. Union Minister Shri Nitin Gadkari shared on his ‘X’ handle that the Government of India has approved these proposals. He mentioned that financial approval of Rs 892.36 crore has been granted from the Central Road Infrastructure Fund (CRIF) for the financial year 2024-25 for the development of eight state road stretches in the districts of Bemetara, Mungeli, Rajnandgaon, Jashpur, Bilaspur, and Khairagarh.

Deputy Chief Minister Shri Arun Sao informed that the amount sanctioned by the Government of India through the CRIF will be utlized for the widening and strengthening of the Nandghat-Mungeli road and the Bemetara-Nawagarh-Mungeli road in Bemetara and Mungeli districts. Additionally, widening and upgrading of the Dongargaon-Chowki-Mohla Manpur road in Rajnandgaon district, , upgradation of the Bagbahar-Kotba road and the Ludeng-Tapkara-Lawakera road and the Jashpur-Asta-Kusmi road stretch in Jashpur district will also be carried out. He further added that the widening and strengthening of the Sirgitti-Sarwani-Pasid-Amladiha-Bartori-Dagori road in Bilaspur district and the Rajnandgaon-Kawardha-Pondi road in Rajnandgaon and Khairagarh districts will also be completed using this sanctioned amount.
