Award is the Result of Continuous Improvement Efforts: Health Minister Shri Shyam Bihari Jaiswal

Raipur, April 18, 2026। Chhattisgarh has achieved a major national milestone for its excellent, transparent and result-oriented implementation of the Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (PM-JAY). During the National Health Authority’s Chintan Shivir held in Pune, Maharashtra, on April 17 and 18, 2026, the state was honoured as the Best Performing Large State in two prestigious categories.

Chhattisgarh received awards in the High Trigger Efficacy category for accurate identification and effective analysis of suspicious claims, and in the Timely Processing of Suspicious Claims category for quick, time-bound disposal of flagged claims.

The achievement reflects the success of Chhattisgarh’s advanced IT-based monitoring systems, robust claim audit mechanisms and trigger-based surveillance model. These systems have significantly improved the timely detection of suspicious cases and their rapid resolution.

Through better coordination with hospitals and transparent procedures, the quality of claim processing has improved while unnecessary delays have been reduced. As a result, beneficiaries under the scheme are receiving timely, smooth and quality healthcare services.

This recognition not only highlights the state government’s administrative efficiency and technological strength but also reflects its people-centric vision and service commitment.

Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai expressed happiness over the achievement. He stated that this national honour under the Ayushman Bharat Yojana is proof of Chhattisgarh’s transparent, accountable and citizen-focused healthcare system.

He said the government’s goal is to deliver free, high-quality healthcare services to the last person in society. In this regard, healthcare delivery is becoming more effective through technology-driven monitoring, robust management systems, and continuous reforms.

The Chief Minister credited the success to officers of the Health Department, healthcare workers and all supporting institutions. He expressed confidence that Chhattisgarh will continue to set new benchmarks in the healthcare sector.

On the occasion, Health Minister Shri Shyam Bihari Jaiswal said the honour is the outcome of Chhattisgarh’s commitment, transparency, and sustained efforts to improve the healthcare system.

He said the state government is dedicated to providing free, high-quality healthcare services to every eligible citizen through the Ayushman Bharat Yojana. This achievement is the result of the collective efforts of healthcare workers, administrative teams and all partner institutions.

He also expressed confidence that the state will continue delivering excellent performance in the future while keeping public service as its highest priority.
