Chhattisgarh organises the Yoga event with the theme ‘Har Ghar Aangan Yoga’

People of every age praised the commission’s Yoga centres and witnessed positive life transformations through practising Yoga

Chhattisgarh witnessed a spectacular event on ‘International Yoga Day’ as lakhs of people enthusiastically participated in yoga sessions across the state. With the theme ‘Har Ghar Aangan Yoga’, the event was organised in Raipur, the capital of Chhattisgarh, and all the district headquarters. In Chief Minister Mr.Bhupesh Baghel’s presence, the main event took place at the Jora Ground in Raipur, where over 21,000 individuals gathered for a mass Yoga practise. The enthusiasm for Yoga was also evident in every district of the state, with a significant number of people joining the organised events. Mr.Gyanesh Sharma, Chairman of the Yoga Commission, highlighted the efforts undertaken to promote Yoga in Chhattisgarh, emphasising the active role played by the Yoga Commission in popularising Yoga among the people. The positive response to the commission’s initiatives reflects through the number of people connecting with Yoga.

During the International Yoga Day event in Chhattisgarh, prominent figures emphasised the significance of Yoga as an ancient form of education and its role in promoting overall health. MLA Mr.Mohan Markam highlighted the efforts of the Yoga Commission in spreading awareness about the benefits of Yoga throughout the state. Parliamentary Secretary Mr.Vikas Upadhyay emphasised that Yoga enhances both mental and physical capacities, contributing to a healthier society. The Yoga Commission has played a pivotal role by establishing over 40 Yoga centres, forming a strong foundation for a healthy society. MLA Mr.Satyanarayan Sharma emphasised the connection between Yoga and a healthy lifestyle, emphasising that it ensures physical well-being and also reduces medical expenses. Yoga instructor Mr.Chhabiram Sahu conducted a training program in Raipur, teaching various Yoga techniques, including Ashtanga Yoga. He explained that yoga encompasses Yama, Niyama, Asana, Pranayama, Pratyahara, Dharana, Dhyana, and Samadhi, promoting mental-physical equilibrium and enhancing individuals’ capabilities. During the event, citizens have practised various Yoga poses, such as Padmasan, Tadasan, Halasan, Ardhachakrasan, Vajrasan, Dhanurasan, Makrasan, Naukasan, Pawan Muktasan, Bhujangasan, Shavasan, Kapalbhati, Grivachalan, and Anulom-Vilom.

The district-level events of International Yoga Day witnessed active participation from various ministers and government officials across Chhattisgarh. Home Minister Mr.Tamradhwaj Sahu attended the event at Mini Stadium in Durg district, while Urban Administration Minister Dr. Shiv Kumar Dahariya took part in Mahasamund district. School Education Minister Dr. Premsai Singh Tekam took part in the Surajpur district, and Women and Child Development Minister Mrs. Anila Bhediya took part in the Balod district. Additionally, Culture Minister Mr. Amarjeet Bhagat took part in the Gariaband district, Parliamentary Secretary Mr. Chintamani Maharaj took part in Balrampur-Ramanujganj district, Mr. Chandradev Prasad Rai took part in Janjgir-Champa district, Mrs. Rashmi Ashish Singh took part in Bilaspur district, and Mr. Indershah Mandavi took part in Mohla-Manpur-Ambagarh Chowki district. The district-level event also saw the enthusiastic participation of local MLAs, people’s representatives, officers, and employees from important offices. The event witnessed people of all ages, from young children to the elderly, actively engaging in the Yoga sessions.

The Yoga Commission’s Yoga centres in key locations of the city attracted both seekers and trainers, who actively participated in the daily yoga sessions. On the occasion of Yoga Day, the trainers and seekers from these centres gathered at the venue to perform Yoga together. They shared their experiences and expressed gratitude for the Yoga Commission’s initiative, stating that learning Yoga has become an integral part of their daily routines. They also highlighted the positive impact of Yoga, mentioning how it has helped cure incurable diseases.

Dharsinwa MLA Mrs. Anita Yogendra Sharma, Raipur Municipal Corporation Mayor Mr. Aijaz Dhebar, District Panchayat Chairman Mrs. Domeshwari Verma, Raipur Divisional Commissioner Dr. Sanjay Alung, IG Mr. Ratan Lal Dangi, Director of Social Welfare Mr. Ramesh Kumar Sharma, Collector Dr. Sarveshwar Bhure, various public representatives, departmental officers and employees, and many people were present.
