Special Article : The rule which was not applicable in Korba earlier, was brought into effect soon after the new government was formed under the leadership of CM As a result, now 29 youths belonging to special backward castes have got government jobs

Raipur, 13 January . People of special backward tribes living in the remote areas of Chhattisgarh depend on farming and forest produce collection for livelihood. There was a rule to recruit local tribal youths on Grade-III posts of government jobs in the tribal areas of Surguja and Bastar division of the state. But this rule was not applicable in Korba district, despite the fact that Korba district is a tribal-dominated area, where a large number of people from special backward tribe Pahadi Korwa, Birhor reside.

Due to non-implementation of this rule in Korba, the tribal youth here did not have the opportunity to land government jobs even after being educated and qualified.

As soon as Mr. Bhupesh Baghel took charge as Chief Minister of the state, he removed this discrepancy and cleared the way for recruitment of local youth of Korba on government jobs. Now local tribal youth are being recruited on the Grade III posts at the district-level in Korba district. So far 29 youths from Pahadi Korwa and Birhor Special Backward Tribes have been appointed as peons and clerks in Tribal Development Department and School Education Department.
