Raigarh 30 Apr. NTPC Lara awarded with Platinum award under Apex India Green Leaf Award 2021 for Environment Excellence on 27th April at New Delhi. The award was presented for the measures are taken for protection of environment and maintaining ecological balance inside plant, township and surrounding areas.
NTPC Lara is having the distinction of introducing first ever 800 MW supercritical technology-based power generation for better environment management. Which was resulted into maintaining the ecological balance in and around Lara project. The environment protection measures taken by Environment management department of Lara station and its outcome result was appreciated by APEX India foundation and Lara station was adjudged as the winner in platinum category.
It is to mention that NTPC’s Lara Super Thermal Power Station’s present installed capacity is 1600 megawatt. Out of generated capacity Chhattisgarh state gets the lion share i.e., 50 percent power from this plant. Rest of the power is supplied to Madhya Pradesh, Gujrat, Maharashtra, Goa, Daman & Diu and Dadra Nagar Haveli.
