A PVTG community member Rathio Korwa and Barsati Kamar now owes their permanent constructed house in villages of Balrampur and Mahasamund respectively.
Raipur, 20 September 2024/ Their joy knew no bound when the Tribal community members including of a Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Groups (PVTG) moved into their own Pukka house.
On receiving concrete houses under the Pradhan Mantri Jan-Man Awas Yojana and PM JANMAN Yojana (Pradhan Mantri Janjati Adivasi Nyay Mahabhiyan) beneficiaries including Mrs Rathio Korwa and Mr Barsaati Kamar expressed their gratitude to Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai.
To ensure that government schemes are reaching special Tribal communities, the Chhattisgarh government is actively working to provide essential needs of health and housing amenities.
In this regard, the two laborers, for whom building their pukka houses on daily wages was a significant challenge, saw their dreams come true when 42-year-old Mrs Rathio, a resident of Village Panchayat Lilauti in Balrampur district, and Mr Barsati Kumar, a resident of Village Maroud in Mahasamund district, recently moved into their new pukka houses built under the PM JANMAN Yojana.
Hence, the duo labourers attributed the credit to PM JANMAN Yojana, which is initiated by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, for improving the social and economic conditions of backward tribes. Also under the leadership of the Chhattisgarh Chief Minister, the future and living conditions of the extremely backward tribal communities in the state are changing rapidly. Basic facilities are now being developed swiftly in the residential areas of these special backward tribes.
Chhattisgarh government has special focus for implementing PM Janman Yojana under the leadership of Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai. Hence, basic development and construction works are being done rapidly in all the special backward tribal areas of the state. Not even a year has passed since the launch of the PM Janman Yojana in the state, yet the Chhattisgarh government’s commitment has already begun to yield fruitful results.
The 42-year-old Pahadi Korwa community member from Balrampur district use to live with her husband and children in a Kutcha house. Her sources of income are farming and labor, leaving her unable to save enough to build a permanent home for her family. She never imagined she would live in a permanent house, it felt like a distant dream. However, under PM Janman Yojana she received government approval to build a permanent house in 2023-24 and eventually constructed her house with government’s grant. She shared that she worked alongside her husband as a laborer during the construction and also received wages under MNREGA.
Similarly, Mr Barsati Kamar, a resident of Village Maroud in Mahasamund district, worked as a laborer and due to his financial struggles he was forced to live in a kutcha house. However, his luck changed when he received a permanent house under the Pradhan Mantri Jan-Man Awas Yojana.
Kamar recounted the difficulties of ruining of their belongings due to water logging in their Kutcha house during monsoon. This caused him a considerable amount on repairs.
Now by building a permanent home for himself and his family his life is secured. Hence, under Pradhan Mantri Jan-Man Yojana, the funds were sent directly to his bank account in three installments and he also received skilled labor payments based on his work. With this support, he completed the construction of his permanent house and is now happily living there. He shared that this scheme has made his dreams come true, allowing him to live in his home without any worries.
