Korba, May 21: Emergency response services in Korba district received a major boost with the induction of 22 new next-generation Dial-112 vehicles under the second phase of the Chhattisgarh Dial-112 project.
The vehicles were formally flagged off from the office of the Superintendent of Police in Korba by State Industry Minister Lakhanlal Dewangan on Thursday.
Under the Phase-II expansion of the Dial-112 emergency response system, advanced emergency response vehicles have now been deployed across all 33 districts of Chhattisgarh. A total of 400 modern emergency response vehicles have been provided to the State under the initiative. The project was inaugurated on May 18 by Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai.
Officials said the newly inducted vehicles are equipped with modern technology, including advanced cameras, dash cameras, GPS tracking systems and smart mobile devices, enabling faster and more efficient emergency response services.
The Dial-112 system integrates multiple emergency services, including police assistance, medical support, fire services, disaster management, child helpline and women helpline services, thereby providing citizens with coordinated emergency assistance through a single platform.
Speaking on the occasion, officials stated that the upgraded emergency response mechanism would strengthen public safety and improve accessibility of emergency services across the district.
Among those present during the programme were Katghora MLA Premchand Patel, District Panchayat President Dr Pawan Singh, Mayor Sanju Devi Rajput, Collector Kunal Dudawat and Superintendent of Police Siddharth Tiwari.
