Sheel Vardhan Singh, IPS took over the charge of Director General, CISF

New Delhi 15.11.2021: On 15.11.2021,  Sheel Vardhan Singh, IPS assumed the charge of Director General, Central Industrial Security Force at CISF HQrs, 13 CGO Complex, Lodhi Road, New Delhi. Prior to his appointment as DG, CISF, he was serving as Special Director, Intelligence Bureau.

Shri Sheel Vardhan Singh is B.A. (Honours) in English literature. He joined the Indian Police Service in the year 1986 at the age of 23 and was allotted Bihar cadre. During his distinguished career spanning 35 years, he has held many important and sensitive positions in the state of Bihar and during Central Deputation to Government of India.

On Central Deputation, Shri Sheel Vardhan Singh has served in the Ministry of External affairs at the Indian High Commission, Dhaka, Bangladesh as First Secretary. Later, on deputation to Intelligence Bureau he has served as Addl. Director & Spl. Director.

Shri Sheel Vardhan Singh has been decorated with the President’s Police Medal for Meritorious Service in the year 2004 and President’s Police Medal for Distinguished Service in 2010.

On his arrival at CISF HQrs, New Delhi, Sheel Vardhan Singh, IPS, DG, CISF was received by Arvind Deep, ADG (North), Smt. Nina Singh, ADG (HQrs) and other senior officers of CISF and a Ceremonial Guard of Honour was presented to him.

He is the 29th Director General of CISF.
