- Proven leadership in Kusmunda and Dipka mines earns him the top post in SECL’s mega project
Korba, October 5, 2025. The South Eastern Coalfields Limited (SECL) headquarters has issued transfer order No. 666 dated October 4, 2025, releasing a list of senior officers from the mining department. As per the order, 11 officers of E-8 grade, 4 of E-7, 2 of E-6, 1 of E-5, 3 of E-4, and 3 of E-3 levels have been transferred. Notably, five officers from the Gevra area have been shifted in this reshuffle.
Among them, the most prominent name is Mr. Parth Mukherjee, who has been appointed as the General Manager of Gevra Project. Known for his diligence, professional integrity, and remarkable operational experience in mining, Mr. Mukherjee has consistently set benchmarks in performance across SECL’s major subsidiaries.
During his tenure at Baroud Project in Raigarh Area, he successfully enhanced productivity and brought significant recognition to the subsidiary. His efficient work led to his subsequent posting at the Dipka Area, where he made major contributions to the revenue department while holding the position of General Manager (Operations).
Recently, upon being reposted at Dipka, Mr. Mukherjee played a key role in the expansion of the Dipka Project, completing the land acquisition process of Malgaon village covering 45 hectares, carrying out land leveling, and accelerating coal production. Under his leadership, the project achieved outstanding performance within just six months.
This is the fourth time Mr. Mukherjee has been appointed as General Manager of a mega project. In 2024, when the Kusmunda Project was facing challenging conditions, he was entrusted with its leadership. Through his strategic approach, he increased the daily coal production from 7,000 tonnes to an impressive 1,50,000 tonnes, marking a historic milestone for SECL.
Recognizing his proven track record and leadership qualities, SECL Headquarters has now assigned him the responsibility of leading the Gevra Project, one of India’s largest coal mines. Under his guidance, the project aims to achieve its ambitious production target of 63 million tonnes for the financial year 2025–26.
