KORBA, Jul 4 Young Karate players of the district were awarded for excellent performance in the E-Karate Tournament organised by Raipur Karate DU Association, from 1st to 10th of June. The players who gave top performances received medals and certificates at Korba on 30th June.
Secretary of Korba Karate DU Association, Ashok Yadav said that COVID crisis has reduced physical activity among children. An E-tournament was organised by Raipur Karate DU Association for Raipur, Korba, Rajnandgaon and Durg zones to ensure development of the children, along with training them in self defence. Videos of children performing Karate were sent to Raipur between 1st to 10th June and the results were announced on 13th June. Three students, namely Vishwas Dhwaj Singh, Santoshi Marar amd Suyash Namdeo achieved gold medals while Nandini Yadav achieved silver medal. District players also bagged 7 bronze medals for Vinod Sahu, Altaf Ali, Bhawna Yadav, Ashna Diwar, Tushar Sahu, Sunita Dariyana and Khyati Gabhel. Ashok Yadav and Shiv Patel had worked tirelessly as coaches for the players.
