Raipur, 02 July . Chief Minister Shri Bhupesh Baghel in a virtual program organized at his residence office here today launched mobile banking facility in District Co-operative Central Bank Limited, Durg and new 62nd branch of Cooperative Bank Durg in village-Jheet in Patan development block of Durg district. On this occasion, the Chief Minister said that the State Government is making continuous efforts to make the rural economy more strong and dynamic. District Co-operative Central Bank Durg has become the first cooperative bank of Chhattisgarh, which has started banking facility for its customers through mobile app. While banking will become easier for 6 lakh 10 thousand customers of this bank with the app, the work capacity and work efficiency of the bank will increase. There will be more transparency in the working of the bank. Chief Minister congratulated the farmers of the area on the opening of the new branch of the cooperative bank in Jheent. He said that the farmers of the area would easily get the benefits of the schemes of the government.
On this occasion, Home Minister Shri Tamradhwaj Sahu, Cooperative Minister Dr. Premsai Singh Tekam, Urban Administration and Development Minister Dr. Shivkumar Dahriya, Chief Secretary Shri Amitabh Jain, Additional Chief Secretary to Chief Minister Shri Subrata Sahoo were present at the Chief Minister’s residence. While, Agriculture Minister Shri Ravindra Choubey, Women and Child Development Minister Smt. Anila Bhendia, Chairman of State Warehousing Corporation Shri Arun Vora joined the program virtually. The authorized officer of District Co-operative Central Bank Durg and Collector Durg Dr. Sarveshwar Bhure conducted the program.
On this occasion, Chief Minister Shri Baghel said that the farmers of 19 adjoining villages will get direct benefit of the new branch of Durg District Co-operative Central Bank in village Jheet. The committees of Jheet, Savani, Sankra, Jamrao and Ghughwa will be attached to this new branch of the bank. 04 thousand 638 farmers associated with these committees will benefit from the new branch. Many schemes of Chhattisgarh government, including paddy procurement, Rajiv Gandhi Kisan Nyay Yojana, Godhan Nyay Yojana, agriculture loan at zero percent interest, are operated through cooperative banks.
Chief Minister Shri Baghel said that the Durg District Co-operative Central Bank has taken a commendable initiative to provide banking facilities to its customers in a simple and easy way through mobile app. The jurisdiction of Durg District Co-operative Central Bank is spread over three districts of Durg, Balod and Bemetara. In order to provide banking facility to the farmers sitting at home in these districts, the facility of mobile app has been started by the bank today. By using this app, farmer brothers will be able to get information about their account wherever they want. With the help of this app, even during the holidays, they will be able to do transactions easily. People will not have to make rounds of bank-branches for small tasks. It will save their time and money. From arranging fertilizers and seeds to buying tractors and harvesters, farmers are getting help from this bank. Along with helping agriculture flourish, this bank has also helped in raising the standard of living of the farmers. Farmers are also getting loan facility for building house and for educating the children. Strengthening of Durg District Co-operative Central Bank means further strengthening of farmers of Durg, Balod and Bemetara districts.
Chief Minister said that the State Government is working with the resolve of Garhbo-Nawa-Chhattisgarh. Continuous work is being done to make the rural economy as strong and dynamic as possible. The faster the banking facilities in rural areas will increase, the faster the pace of development will also be. With the expansion of banking facilities,new avenues of enterprise and employment will open in the villages along with agriculture in other areas. Mr. Baghel congratulated the farmers of Jheet and its surrounding villages on the opening of the new branch.
While addressing the program, Home Minister Shri Tamradhwaj Sahu said that cooperative is an important part of rural life. Under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel, schemes are being prepared keeping in mind the farmer and farming. Continuous efforts are being made to provide maximum facilities to the farmers. He said that the Gauthans built in the villages would prove to be a boon for the cooperative banks in the times to come. Along with the production of vermi compost, many economic activities like goat rearing, poultry, dairy are being conducted by the women self-help groups in the Gauthans. Banks will also get the benefit of these activities.
Cooperative Minister Dr. Premsai Singh Tekam announced to start a cooperative bank ATM at village Jheet in the program on the request of the villagers. He said that Durg District Co-operative Central Bank was started on 19th October 1911, this bank has been serving the farmers for 110 years. He said that the 62nd branch of the bank started from today at Village Jheet is fully computerized and equipped with core banking facilities. The customers of the bank will be able to transfer the amount to the account of any bank from the mobile app of District Co-operative Central Bank, Durg, which started today. He said that banking will become easy for 6 lakh 10 thousand customers of this bank with the mobile app.
Collector Durg Dr. Sarveshwar Bhure while conducting the program said that customers would get banking facilities like mobile apps of nationalized banks and private banks in the mobile app of District Co-operative Central Bank, Durg. District Co-operative Central Bank Durg is the first cooperative bank of Chhattisgarh which is providing this facility to its customers. This app has been approved by the Reserve Bank of India. Various banking facilities including account enquiry, bank statement, fund transfer will be available to the customers from this app. On this occasion, the Chief Minister interacted with the President of Janpad Panchayat Patan, Smt. Rambai Sinha and Janpad member Shri Tulsiram Rajak. They expressed their gratitude to the Chief Minister for starting the branch of Co-operative Bank in Jheet.
