Raipur, 17 October 2024// Shri P. Dayanand, Secretary of the Public Relations Department, chaired a review meeting at Chhattisgarh SAMVAD Bhawan in Nava Raipur on October 17. He highlighted the vital role of public relations officers in ensuring that information about state government schemes reaches every citizen. He urged PR officers to effectively communicate these programs to all sections of society, emphasising that under the leadership of Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai, the Chhattisgarh Government has launched numerous welfare schemes aimed at benefiting the people. Over the past 10 months, several flagship initiatives have been introduced, positively impacting farmers, youth, women, and the underprivileged. Shri Dayanand directed officers to extensively promote these welfare schemes through print, electronic, digital, and social media platforms.

He stressed the importance of maximising the use of social media to expand the reach of government programs. “We are in an age of information revolution where the role of social media is growing,” he stated, encouraging public relations officers to harness these platforms fully. He also instructed officers to ensure timely dissemination of news to media outlets.

Shri Dayanand underscored the need for a simple, engaging, and readable newswriting style. He recommended that success stories include factual details about the positive changes in people’s lives, supported by relevant photographs. He also called for the regular publication of special articles focusing on the state’s flagship schemes and innovative initiatives.

He directed the officials that hoardings for urban schemes be displayed in city areas, while those related to rural schemes should be placed in tehsil headquarters and Janpad Panchayat offices. During the meeting, Shri Dayanand reviewed the department’s publicity efforts in electronic, national, and regional media, offering guidance to the officers.

Additionally, Shri Dayanand instructed officials to ensure district public relations offices are well-equipped to optimise the promotion of government schemes. He reviewed the departmental setup and provided further directions. As part of his visit, he inspected various sections of Chhattisgarh SAMVAD and issued necessary instructions to the staff.

Director of Public Relations Shri Ajay Kumar Agarwal, Additional Directors Shri J.L. Dariyo, Shri Umesh Mishra, Shri Sanjeev Tiwari, Shri Alok Dev, Shri Santosh Maurya, Smt. Harsha Puranik and other officers of the department were present at the meeting.
