Newly appointed members take charge at Chhattisgarh State Commission for Women

Dr. Kiranmayee Nayak urges new Commission members to advocate for women’s rights

Raipur, 17 October 2024// Chhattisgarh Government, under the initiative of Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai, appointed members to the State Commission for Women on September 26, 2024, with the aim of providing speedy justice to the female population of the state. A total of five members were appointed to fill vacant positions. Smt. Laxmi Verma from Balodabazar assumed her role on October 7. Today, Smt. Priyamvada Singh Judev from Jashpur, Smt. Sarla Kosaria from Mahasamund, Smt. Ojaswi Mandavi from Dantewada, and Deepika Sori from Sukma also took charge at the Commission office.

Dr. Kiranmayee Nayak, Chairperson of the Chhattisgarh State Women Commission, congratulated the newly appointed members and urged them to work diligently in the interest of women. The previous members’ tenure ended on June 27, 2024. The Chairperson had written to Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai, requesting the prompt appointment of all five members and emphasizing the need for representation from all divisions, particularly Surguja and Bastar.

Dr. Kiranmayee Nayak expressed her gratitude to the Chief Minister for the new appointments from Surguja, Bastar, and Raipur divisions.

During the ceremony to welcome the new members at the Commission office, Beltara MLA Shri Sushant Shukla, Secretary of the State Women Commission Shri Manoj Kumar Sinha, Assistant Director Smt. Pushpa Kiran Kujur, and several Commission employees and workers were present.
