Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai attended the Karma Mahotsava organised by the Oraon community in Lailuga on October 14. He emphasised that the Karma Festival, celebrated with great enthusiasm in rural and forest areas, plays a vital role in preserving cultural values for future generations. He further stated that following the path of ancestors is everyone’s responsibility. Health Minister Shri Shyam Bihari Jaiswal also graced the occasion.
During the event, Chief Minister Shri Sai announced several development projects for Lailuga, including Rs. 49 lakh for the construction of a community building, Rs. 40 lakh for the renovation of a stadium, and Rs. 20 lakh for a new basketball court. He also announced the plan to resume the water supply project from Khamhar Pakut Dam to Lailuga. The Chief Minister praised the Oraon community’s rich history and congratulated them on organising the Karma Festival at the birthplace and workplace of Gahira Guru.
Highlighting his government’s efforts, CM Shri Sai reaffirmed his commitment to fulfilling Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s guarantees. He mentioned the approval of 18 lakh houses under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, with the Central Government already sanctioning 8.46 lakh houses in the state. He also emphasised the fulfilment of promises, including a support price of Rs. 3100 per quintal for paddy (up to 21 quintals per acre), the disbursement of pending paddy bonuses to farmers, and a remuneration of Rs. 5500 per standard bag for tendupatta collectors. Several welfare schemes, such as the Mahtari Vandan Yojana and Shri Ramlala Darshan Yojana, were also highlighted. Additionally, he mentioned the ongoing CBI investigation into the PSC scam.
Chief Minister Shri Sai reiterated that his government is working for the upliftment of tribal communities, aligning with Prime Minister Modi’s vision. The Pradhan Mantri Janman Yojana is providing roads, electricity, and water to remote PVGT settlements, connecting them to various government schemes. He also shared the launch of the ‘Dharti Aaba Janjatiya Gram Utkarsh Abhiyan’ by Prime Minister Modi on October 2, which allocates Rs. 80,000 crore for the development of tribal communities nationwide. Villages in Chhattisgarh will also benefit from this initiative.
