The Chhattisgarh Forest Department will host the third ‘Barnawapara Butterfly Meet-2024’ from October 21 to 23, 2024, at the Barnawapara Sanctuary. The event aims to explore butterfly diversity in various habitats of the sanctuary, helping establish key hotspots for future scientific studies.
Barnawapara Wildlife Sanctuary, located in Chhattisgarh’s Balodabazar district, is one of the state’s captivating wildlife reserves, spanning 244.66 square kilometres. Its large size contributes to its significant ecological importance. Interested participants can apply by October 18, 2024. They can scan a QR code issued by the Forest Department to access complete information about the meet. The age limit for participants is set between 18 and 60 years. All participants must be capable of walking 10 to 15 kilometres daily, and basic knowledge of butterfly species is desirable. The ‘Barnawapara Sanctuary Butterfly Meet-2024’ team will select participants, and their decision will be final. All participants are required to follow the guidelines issued by the Forest Department. This event offers an opportunity for nature enthusiasts and researchers to contribute to the understanding of butterfly populations in the region.
