Union Ministry of Education approved 341 schools in Chhattisgarh to develop as model schools

PM SHRI Yojana officially launched in Chhattisgarh on February 19, 2024, by Union Minister of Education Shri Dharmendra Pradhan

Raipur, 24 September 2024//

Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai has extended his heartfelt gratitude to Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi for the inclusion of 78 more schools from Chhattisgarh under the PM SHRI (Pradhan Mantri Schools for Rising India) Yojana, aimed at transforming these institutions into model schools. With this latest approval, the total number of PM SHRI schools in the state has increased from 263 to 341. Shri Sai praised the Prime Minister’s vision of ‘Viksit Bharat @ 2047’ and acknowledged his unwavering efforts towards realising a developed India. He highlighted that the PM SHRI Yojana’s focus on upgrading educational infrastructure and enhancing the quality of education will be pivotal in achieving this goal.

The Chief Minister also shared that these PM SHRI schools will feature modern science laboratories, libraries, and vocational training centres in consonance with the National Education Policy 2020, which aims to enhance educational standards across Chhattisgarh. Shri Sai also expressed gratitude to Union Minister of Education Shri Dharmendra Pradhan. The Indian government has already approved 211 schools in the first phase, 52 in the third phase, and now 78 in the fourth phase of the PM SHRI Yojana for Chhattisgarh, with all newly included schools catering to students from classes 1 to 12. The schools approved in the first phase have already undergone upgrades, while those from the third phase are in the process of being equipped with state-of-the-art facilities, including smart classrooms, advanced science and mathematics labs, sports amenities, and digital libraries.

The PM SHRI Yojana was officially launched in Chhattisgarh on February 19, 2024, by Union Minister of Education Shri Dharmendra Pradhan, who commended Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai for his dedication to improving the state’s education system. Under this scheme, each school will receive Rs. 2 crore for its development as a model school, in line with the National Education Policy 2020. The initiative aims to create exemplary institutions through comprehensive improvements in infrastructure and educational quality.
