Raipur, 04 September 2024/ The Government of India has recognized the Kamar tribe as a Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Group (PVTG). Under the leadership of Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai, Chhattisgarh Government has undertaken several initiatives aimed at the economic, social, and educational upliftment of these families. Special efforts are being made to link Kamar families with self-employment opportunities.
As part of this initiative, continuous special camps are being organized in Kamar settlements within the Dhamtari district. These camps, held by various departments, aim to provide the benefits of government schemes such as Aadhaar registration, Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, pensions, ration cards, Ujjwala gas connections, Kisan Credit Cards, Kisan Samman Nidhi, crop loans, Sukanya Samriddhi, Matru Vandana, malnutrition eradication, Ayushman cards, Sickle Cell treatment, Jan Dhan accounts, Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana, birth certificates, loan books, caste certificates, Vishwakarma Yojana, labour cards, school enrollment for dropout children, and the Nal-Jal scheme. In this series of events, special camps were organized at Khadma, Madwapathra in Magarlod block, and at Kawachipara and Aamapara in Bagroomnala of Nagri block.
Through these camps, seven beneficiaries were provided with Ayushman cards, 11 with Jan Dhan accounts, 12 with Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana, one with Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana, 18 with Kisan Samman Nidhi, one with Sukanya Samriddhi, and one beneficiary each with Sickle Cell treatment, anemia and malnutrition treatment, and Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana. Additionally, eight beneficiaries were assisted under the Vishwakarma Yojana, and labor cards were provided to 26 Kamar beneficiaries.
