Central and State Government committed for overall development of Tribal society: Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai

Chief Minister attended Janjati Gaurav Diwas and Kanwar Samaj Sammelan

Raipur, 14 November 2024/ Asserting the overall development of Tribal society in Chhattisgarh, Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai said that the Union and state government are committed for the comprehensive development of the Tribal society in the state.

Shri Sai highlighted the State and Centre run public welfare schemes for the Tribal development in a program of Janjati Gaurav Diwas and Kanwar Samaj Sammelan organized at village Bhatagaon of Gunderdehi development block of Balod district on Thursday.

On this occasion, the Chief Minister mentioned the valor of Dharti Aba Bhagwan Birsa Munda and said that he fought against the British rule to protect his identity, culture and motherland and was martyred at the young age of 25 years. Chief Minister Shri Sai announced to affiliate Higher Secondary School under government recognition and fund of Rs 25 lakh for the school run by Kanwar Samaj in village Bhatgaon B. While he approved Rs 50 lakh for construction of community building of Adivasi Pankra Kanwar Samaj in village Rengakathera of Gunderdehi development block and Rs 10 lakh for construction of Ram Satta Sthal of Ram Mandir in ward number 10 of Gunderdehi. The program was presided over by State President of Kanwar Samaj Shri Harbansh Miri.
While paying obeisance to Lord Birsa Munda and Saint Gahira Guru, Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai, said that along with the freedom struggle, the great personalities of the tribal society have made an important contribution in the reconstruction of the nation and society.

Chief Minister Shri Sai said that Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has announced to celebrate Lord Birsa Munda’s birth anniversary on 15th of November as Janjatiya Gaurav Diwas- Tribal Pride Day to make the entire country and the world as well as the future generations aware of the glory of the tribal society and tribal heroes. This has increased the pride of the tribal society.

Chief Minister Shri Sai praised martyr Thaman Singh Thakur of village Bhatgaon (B) and late landlord Dau Girdhari Singh for their contribution in spreading education in the village, he went to their Samadhi and paid homage to them by offering flowers. On this occasion, Shri Sai observed the stalls set up by various departments at the venue and praised them.

MP Shri Bhojraj Nag, MLA Shri Kunwar Singh Nishad, District Panchayat President Smt. Sonadevi Deshlahra along with other public representatives and a large number of people of Kanwar community were present in the program.
