Korba, 14, July. In a bid to bolster the sales of locally manufactured herbal products, food items, and cosmetics from Chhattisgarh, a new retail outlet was unveiled at the Indra Complex Shopping Complex within NTPC Korba. The initiative, spearheaded by Katghora Forest Officer Shri Kumar Nishant, saw the inauguration of the ‘Herbal Sanjeevani’ sales center on July 9, 2024.
The ceremonial opening was graced by Shri Rajeev Khanna, marking the presence of esteemed dignitaries including Katghora Forest Officer Shri Kumar Nishant and Dr. Pawan Kumar Dhanwar, Vice President of District Union Katghora.
As part of the inauguration festivities, saplings of mango, neem, jackfruit, and other varieties were distributed to attendees under the banner of “Ek Ped Maa” (One Tree Mother). The sales center features a diverse range of offerings including food items, medicinal products, cosmetics, millets, and assorted juices.
Given its strategic location within the NTPC colony, the center is anticipated to attract substantial footfall, ensuring robust sales of the showcased products. This development is poised to economically benefit the members associated with the sales center, particularly the Asha Mahila Self-Help Group Jamnipali.
The event witnessed the participation of key stakeholders including directors from the District Union Katghora, forest staff from Katghora, and officers and employees from NTPC, alongside representatives from various unions and associations.
The establishment of the Herbal Sanjeevani sales center marks a significant step towards promoting indigenous products from Chhattisgarh, aiming to enhance their market presence and benefit local communities economically.
