Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai expresses grief over Katghora Incident, announces financial aid of Rs 4 Lakh for the Bereaved Families

Raipur, 05 July 2024/ Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai has expressed condolences over the tragic demise of four members of a single family in Dipra Para of Jurali village, Katghora police station jurisdiction, Korba district. The deaths occurred during a rescue attempt to save a villager who had fallen into a well. Shri Sai has directed the Korba Collector to provide financial aid of Rs 4 lakh to each of the bereaved families.

On his social media handle X, Chief Minister Shri Sai stated, “The news of the death of four members of a single family in Jurali village, Katghora, while trying to rescue a villager who had fallen into a well, is extremely saddening. Instructions have been given to the Korba Collector to provide a financial aid of Rs 4 lakh to each of the bereaved families. I pray to God for the peace of the departed souls and for strength to the grieving families.”

It is noteworthy that four individuals drowned in a well in Dipra Para of Jurali village under Katghora police station jurisdiction. It is reported that after a villager named Jahru fell into the well, his daughter jumped in to save him. Subsequently, two other family members also descended into the well. Tragically, all of them perished one after the other. Chief Minister has expressed grief over this incident.
