State government will ensure the posting of specialist doctors, including surgeons in Baikunthpur district hospital

Health Minister Mr. Shyam Bihari Jaiswal inspected the Baikunthpur district hospital on Tuesday

Health Minister Shri Shyam Bihari Jaiswal inspected the Baikunthpur district hospital on Tuesday. He interacted with the patients undergoing treatment at the hospital and gathered information from patients about the facilities available at the hospital. He also reviewed the ongoing construction of new buildings for the district hospital as well as the maternal and child hospital. He directed officials to ensure the completion of the construction work within one month.

He further stated that the state government is committed to providing healthcare facilities to the people of the state through improved healthcare infrastructure. State-of-the-art equipment will be provided in all hospitals to ensure better healthcare facilities. He shared that the shortcomings identified during the visit to the hospital will be fulfilled in a short time. Shri Jaiswal is inspecting hospitals regularly across the state to strengthen the management of healthcare facilities, and this will continue in the future.

Minister Shri Jaiswal inspected the emergency medical unit, minor operation theater, chemotherapy ward, blood bank, pediatric ward, CT scan room, dialysis unit, kitchen facility, and other wards of the district hospital. He also gained information about the facilities being provided to the patients. Regarding the shortage of general surgeons, gynaecologists, paediatricians, and anesthesiologists at the district hospital, Minister Shri Jaiswal stated that the state government will ensure the posting of specialist doctors, including surgeons in Baikunthpur district hospital.

Inquire about the well-being of the patients

Health Minister Shri Shyam Bihari Jaiswal received information about health from Shri Ajay Kodmehra, who was admitted to the ward. Shri Ajay shared that he has been admitted to the hospital for the last two to three days due to vomiting. Similarly, Shri Omprakash Datta and Smt. Mahima Bunkar, admitted for dialysis due to kidney disease, also discussed their issues with the minister. Minister Shri Jaiswal instructed the concerned officials to provide free medication to elderly dialysis patients and ensure that they will not be charged any fees for the medication. He directed to immediately take seriously ill patients to the medical college. He also directed the officials to provide clean, high-quality, nutritious warm meals and arrange drinking water for patients and their families.

Arrangements for ambulances and mortuary vans

Minister Shri Jaiswal inquired about the condition of the ambulance, and officials informed him that the old ambulance was no longer functional. Immediately, the minister directed the Collector to prepare a proposal for acquiring new ambulances and a mortuary van, ensuring their availability. He assured the arrangement of five ambulances and two mortuary vans at the government level.
