Shramdan cleaning campaign organized by SECL under Swachhata Hi Seva campaign


On 01.10.2023, a Shramdan cleanliness drive was conducted by SECL led by Director (Finance) Shri G. Srinivasan, Director Technical (Project/Project) Shri S.N. Kapri, Director (Personnel) Shri Debasis Acharyya at Chhath Ghat built on the banks of Arpa river in Bilaspur. More than 250 employees of SECL consisting of HoDs, Officers-Employees, women workers of SECL volunteered in the cleanliness drive.


Swachhta Hi Seva Abhiyan is being celebrated across the country from 15th September to 2nd October under the joint aegis of Ministry of Jal Shakti, Department of Drinking Water and Sanitation and Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs. The theme of this year’s campaign is Garbage Free India and the main objective of this year’s campaign is to promote cleanliness of our surroundings and the welfare of our Safaimitras.


Under the campaign, Honorable Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji in Mann Ki Baat program urged all the government, non-government organizations and citizens of the country to pay ‘Swachhanjali’ to Bapu on the eve of his birth anniversary by doing one hour of volunteering for cleanliness on 1st October at 10 am.


In continuation of the same this cleanliness drive was organized by SECL in which SECL employees participated enthusiastically and volunteered to clean Chhath Ghat. Welfare Department, CSR Department, Administration Department, Town Administration department played an active role in successfully organizing this campaign.
