Distribution of free assistive devices to 50 differently-abled beneficiaries in the Awas Nyay Sammelan

Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel gave assurance of financial support of Rs 1 lakh to differently-abled beneficiary Gayatri Patel for pursuing B.Ed.

MP Mr. Rahul Gandhi and Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel visited the motorized tricycle distribution stall run by the Social Welfare Department for the beneficiaries of the Awas Nyay Sammelan organized in Parsada, Bilaspur. He handed over motorized tricycles to a total of 50 beneficiaries, including differently-abled Gayatri Patel, Samant Kumar, and Poonam Thakur, under the Nishulk Sahayata Upkaran Vitran Yojana for differently-abled persons in the stall. MP Mr. Rahul Gandhi and Chief Minister Mr. Baghel held discussions with various beneficiaries.

During the discussion with the beneficiaries, differently-abled beneficiary Gayatri Patel, a resident of Takhatpur, said that because she was disabled since childhood, she had to face many problems in commuting to school and college. But now, with the help of this motorized tricycle, she can travel on her own without needing any support. She also informed the Chief Minister Mr. Baghel and MP Mr. Rahul Gandhi about the difficulties she was facing in getting further education. The Chief Minister, after listening to her, assured her of the provision of a grant-in-aid of Rs 1 lakh for pursuing B.Ed. The MP and the Chief Minister shook hands with the differently-abled beneficiary, Mr. Samant Kumar, and other differently-abled persons present in the venue and inquired about their well-being.

It is noteworthy that, in accordance with the ambitious Samarthya Vikas Yojana under the Social Welfare Department of the government, free assistive devices are being distributed to differently-abled people. These aids include items like motorized tricycles, hearing aids, walking sticks, etc.
