College, Korba organized a Cycle rally and Seminar today under the direction of IDA Chapt
Chhattisgarh and NetProfen under the National Nutrition Month of September and gave an awareness
message to the general public and the staff and students of the college.
Program Officer NSS and Head of the Department of Home Science, Prof. Ajay Kumar Patel said that the focus of Nutrition Month 2023 is to create widespread awareness about the important stages of human life – Pregnancy, Infancy, Childhood and Adolescnet. It aims to promote nutrition understanding across India through content focused on “Nourished India, Literate India, Empowered India”. First of all, Nutrition Awareness Cycle rally was taken out with loud slogans through Home Science and NSS volunteers.
The rally started from the college premises, passed through Forest Divisional Officer’s Office,
Kosabari, ITI Chowk and ended at the college from Bisahudas Mahant Smriti District Hospital Korba.
Through the Nutrition rally, awareness was created about Anemia, Breastfeeding, local and Nutritious
dishes made from Millets, and the nutritional value of local foods. Thereafter, in the seminar, Dr.
Alka Srivastava Principal in-charge, Dr. L.N. Kanwar, Dr. S.K. Gobhil, Dr. Dhaneshwari Dubey, Prof.
Amola Korram, Deepak Tekam, Suraj Patel, Virendra Srivas, Ravikant etc. completed in the dignified
presence of. In their address and discussion, all the guests expressed their views on Food and
Nutrition, Nutrition Education, Anemia testing, proper eating habits. Meanwhile, Ullas Navbharat
Literacy Awareness Program was also discussed. NSS Group Leader Volunteer Nikhil Sahu,
Harshvardhan Tandon, Laluram Manjhwar, Humanshu Sahu, Ravindra Rathiya, Satyendra Rathiya,
Aditi Jangde, Narendra Chandra, Richa Swarnkar, Ramkumari etc. had a commendable and important
contribution in making the program successful. At the end of the program, nutrition message was read
and nutrition awareness oath was administered.
