RIPA paved the path for self-reliance; Women earned Rs.18,000 by selling stationery items

Manendragarh, 24 August 2023। The state government is providing opportunities for employment and self-employment to women and youth through the Mahatma Gandhi Rural Industrial Park (RIPA). Entrepreneurs are empowered financially by these efforts. RIPA has provided essential infrastructure and facilities to facilitate the smooth operation of these income-generating activities. In Parasgarhi village of the newly formed Manendragarh-Chirmiri-Bharatpur district, seven women of the Shiv Mahila Self-Help Group are working in the stationery-print unit installed in RIPA. Group President Mrs. Rania Singh said that they manufacture various stationery products, such as copy and file pads. The stationary products are distributed to government and non-government offices, schools, and ashrams based on demand. They have sold materials worth Rs. 40,560 and have earned a net income of Rs.18,210 thus far. The secretary of the committee, Mrs. Sumitra Singh, stated that they are manufacturing stationery items for the past three months. They are also marketing their products to increase sales and reach a wider audience. They have received a positive response from the local market and offices, with customers appreciating the quality of the products. The committee members stated that RIPA has boosted the rural economy by promoting businesses by utilizing local resources and creating ample employment opportunities through livelihood-oriented activities. They expressed gratitude to the state government for this initiative.
