Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana has brought joy to many needy families who had only dreamed of owning a pucca house. Owning housing is not less than a dream for economically weak people. They no longer have to worry about kutcha houses collapsing or damp walls during the rainy season. With the help of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, thousands of families are living happily without any worries. Currently, 8, 62,839 houses are built, while 3,13,307 are in progress and will soon be available to families.

The dream of poor people to own a pucca house is realized with the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana. There was a time when living in a kutcha house was tough due to the leaking roof and dampness in the walls, but today my own lovely, clean pucca house is ready, says Mr. Hiralal. Mr. Hiralal is a resident of Kadrewa, a gram panchayat in Koriya District. Mr. Hiralal lived in a kutcha house for many years, where water used to leak from the roof during the rainy season, due to which his family had to face a lot of trouble. Due to his inability to be financially strong, it was not possible for him to build a pucca house. His family used to suffer from many diseases due to the dampness during the rainy season. When he learned about the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, He applied, and now his pucca house is ready. They are worry-free and happy, Mr. Hiralal says that he also encourages people and relatives around him to take advantage of this scheme.

Simone Minj’s pucca house brought happiness into his life

The dream of 77-year-old Simone Minj, a resident of Gram Panchayat Lodhama of the Kunkuri development block of the Jashpur district, has now come true. Simone had an ancestral two-room hut where he used to live with his wife and three children. On his application, approval was granted for the construction of pucca houses in the year 2018-19 under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana. He himself built his permanent house by combining the grant amount of 1 lakh 30 thousand rupees from the government and 1 lakh rupees from his own savings and children’s earnings. Mr. Simon Minj said that if he had not received the benefit of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, he would have lived in a dilapidated house. Now he is living happily in a pucca house with his wife and children. Mr. Simon expressed his gratitude to the state government for fulfilling his desire to own a pucca house.
