Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel will release Rs 15.72 crore to the beneficiaries of the Godhan NYAY Yojana on August 5

State government paid Rs. 526 crore to the beneficiaries of the Godhan NYAY Yojana so far

Raipur, 4 August 2023/ Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel will virtually release an amount of Rs 15.72 crore as the 73rd installment of the Godhan NYAY Yojana to the beneficiaries on August 5. The program will be organised in the Chief Minister’s residence office. This includes payment of Rs 5.60 crore to cattle rearers in lieu of cow dung procured from July 14 to July 31 in Gauthans and a payment of Rs 9.69 crore to Gauthan committees and women’s SHGs, as a dividend. In Gauthans, during the second fortnight of July, 2 lakh 80 thousand quintals of cow dung have been procured under the Godhan NYAY Yojana.

The self-supporting Gauthans’ involvement in cow dung procurement is steadily rising day by day. The cow dung vendors in Gauthans will receive a payment of Rs 5.60 crore on August 5. However, the state government will contribute only Rs 2.29 crore, and the self-supporting Gauthans will contribute the remaining Rs 3.31 crore. The state currently operates 10,278 Gauthans, and 5985 Gauthans have achieved the status of self-supporting. These Gauthans have collected cow dung worth Rs 70.27 crore from cattle-rearing farmers using their own funds.

It is worth mentioning that under the Godhan NYAY Yojana, the state government has paid Rs. 526 crore to cow dung sellers, Gauthan committees, and women’s self-help groups so far. After the payment of Rs 15.72 crore on August 5, this figure will increase to Rs 541.66 crore, which includes the bonus of Rs. 18 crore to the women’s SHGs. The state government had paid Rs. 250.08 crore to the cow dung vendors for the procurement of 125.54 lakh quintals of cow dung. Following an additional payment of Rs 5.60 crore scheduled for August 5, the total amount will reach Rs 255.68 crore. Moreover, Gauthan committees and women’s SHGs have received Rs 257.29 crore, which will rise to Rs 266.98 crore after the payment of Rs 9.69 crore to these committees and groups on August 5.
