Raipur, 2 August 2023// In consonance with Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel’s vision and under the guidance of Transport Minister Mr. Mohammad Akbar, the Transport Department in the state is efficiently operating the new facility ‘Tuhar Sarkar Tuhar Dwaar’. Since June 2021, the department has successfully delivered 21,93,623 smart card-based registration certificates and driving licences to applicants’ addresses. The department has delivered 14,94,171 smart card-based registration certificates and 6,99,452 driving licences to the applicants.

As part of the ‘Tuhar Sarkar Tuhar Dwaar’ Yojana, the Transport Department is focusing on public convenience by introducing SMS and WhatsApp services to inform applicants about the delivery of smart card-based registration certificates and driving licences. Applicants can now apply online for a new-format driving licence card through www.parivahan.gov.in. After proceeding with Aadhaar authentication, the new driving licence card will be delivered within 8–10 days. Notably, old driving licence cards are not valid when travelling to other states, especially abroad. The processes for renewal, change of address, and surrender of driving licences can also be completed from home through the Aadhaar authentication process.

Transport Minister Mr. Mohammad Akbar is actively overseeing the operation of the ‘Tuhar Sarkar Tuhar Dwaar’ Yojana. This scheme by the Transport Department provides 22 transport-related services delivered directly to people’s doorsteps, ensuring convenience for the public. With this people-centric approach, applicants no longer have to make repeated visits to the Transport Department, saving both time and money.

The Transport Department has introduced a helpline number, 75808-08030, operational from 10:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. on all working days. Applicants can seek information by calling the helpline or by sending an email to www.parivahan.gov.in. The helpline assists with inquiries related to the dispatch of driving licences and registration certificates.
