‘Mukhyamantri School Jatan Yojana’: renovation of 1914 school buildings

Construction of an additional room along with repair, renovation, and restoration work

School buildings are painted with natural paint making them visually attractive

Raipur, 24 July 2023/ Chhattisgarh Government has launched the ‘Mukhyamantri School Jatan Yojana’ to develop high-quality infrastructure in schools across the state. Under the scheme, additional rooms are being constructed along with repairs and renovation work of the school building. This scheme, launched as per the directions of Chief Minister Shri Bhupesh Baghel, aims to create a better learning environment for children by improving the condition of these schools.

Under the Mukhyamantri School Jatan Yojana, 1914 school buildings have been renovated in the state thus far. Renovation work includes roof repairs, wall painting, toilet refurbishment, and overall beautification. School buildings are painted utilizing natural cow dung paint, making them visually attractive. The schools where renovation work was completed now have a completely transformed look. These schools will provide a conducive environment for students to learn. Earlier, the school building was in a dilapidated condition, water used to drip from the roof during the rainy season, now it has been thoroughly restored due to the repair of the roof. Children will now be safe and feel good studying. With the Mukhyamantri School Jatan Yojana, children will now get better school buildings and study well.

There are 29162 schools registered under the scheme,and the cost for renovating these schools is approximately 2133.60 crores. At present, the first installment of Rs 477.06 crore is released to the districts to start the work. As of today, 1914 works have been completed, and works in more than 14,000 is in progress.
