5% hike in dearness allowance for the seventh pay scale, 11% for the sixth pay scale

The cabinet meeting, chaired by Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel, concluded with the decision to raise the dearness allowance for state government officers and employees. The Finance Department issued an order, announcing the increase. Starting from July 1, 2023, the dearness allowance will rise by 5 percent in the seventh pay scale and 11 percent in the sixth pay scale.
In a significant development, government employees in the seventh pay scale will receive an increased dearness allowance of 38 percent, marking a 5 percent increment from the previous rate of 33 percent. Similarly, employees in the sixth pay scale will receive a dearness allowance of 212 percent, as the dearness allowance rises by 11 percent from the old 201 percent. The revised dearness allowance will be effective from July 1, 2023.
