Korba, May 13, 2025. Bharat Aluminium Company Limited (BALCO) organized a mock drill awareness program near the Ash Dyke to strengthen safety and emergency preparedness. The event was successfully conducted in collaboration with the district administration, marking a significant initiative towards enhancing safety and disaster management capabilities.
The objective was to train personnel to respond swiftly and coordinately in emergency situations. The program saw participation from the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), Emergency Fire Safety, Chhattisgarh, district administration officials, BALCO Nagar police, BALCO hospital team, and local community members.
During the mock drill, a potential industrial accident scenario was simulated, allowing participants to experience the actual emergency response process. Savita Sidar, Naib Tahsildar, emphasized the importance of employee awareness and vigilance in such situations. She stressed that regular drills are essential to ensure everyone knows how to respond correctly in emergencies.
Rajesh Kumar, CEO and Director of BALCO, highlighted the significance of collective awareness and efforts in emergency situations. He stated that mock drills not only provide an opportunity to test safety procedures but also yield valuable suggestions for improvement.
