Raipur : A grand building for Mahatma Gandhi Horticulture and Forestry University will be built in Sankara, Patan at a cost of 120 crores

14 government colleges and 4 non-government colleges are registered under the university
 

Raipur, May 20 . Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel will lay the foundation stone for the construction of buildings of Mahatma Gandhi Horticulture and Forestry University on May 21. This includes the construction of an  administrative building, a hostel, a research center building, an indoor stadium, and other buildings. He will address the ‘Bharose Ka sammelan’ program in Sankara village, Patan development block, Durg district. The construction works of various buildings Various buildings will cost of Rs 119 crore 90 lakh 77 thousand. It is noteworthy that this university was established on October 2, 2020 by the Chhattisgarh government at Sankra village of Patan development block in Durg district. Students can study and research subjects based on horticulture and forestry. Under this university, a total of 18 horticultural colleges will be operational. This includes  14 government and 4 non-government colleges.It offers education and research in  horticulture and forestry.

 It is worth mentioning that the geographical location and climate of Chhattisgarh are favorable for horticulture and forestry. Along with promoting horticulture and forestry in the state, this university was established for  special education with the aim of providing employment opportunities to the youth. Graduate and postgraduate students enrolled in the colleges run by this university will soon receive degrees from the institution. PhD can be done by students enrolled in university in  horticulture and forestry. The university  also released the results of the final year’s graduation.

 The academic building of Mahatma Gandhi University of Horticulture and Forestry, Patan Sankara will be built at a cost of Rs. 44.52 crore, the directorate building will be built at a cost of Rs.10.01 crore, the administrative building will be built at a cost of Rs. 9.99 crore, the vice chancellor’s residence will be built at a cost of Rs 95 lakh and residential buildings will be built at a cost of Rs. 6 crore 7 lakh. Similarly, on the university campus, a 100-seater undergraduate girls Hostel will be built at a cost of 3.47 crores,  a 100- seater graduate boys hostel will be built at a cost of 4.77, 100 seater undergraduate boys hostel will be built at a cost of Rs 3.47 crore, farmers hostel at a cost of Rs 2.69 crore, community building at a cost of Rs 48 lakh, bank and post office building at a cost of Rs 56 lakh,an indoor stadium at a cost of Rs 7.6 crores, administrative building of Horticulture College and Research Center will be built at a cost of Rs 7 crore, 75-seater each boys and girls hostel will be built at a cost of Rs 5.92 crore, hostel buildings including the administrative building of Forestry College and Research Center will be built at a cost of Rs 12 crore respectively.
