Unveiled the statue of Late Satpathy at Raipur’s Katora Talab

Chief Minister Shri Bhupesh Baghel unveiled the statue of former MLA Late Shri Laxman Satpathy at Katora Talab in Raipur today, to commemorate his inspiring personality. The Chief Minister stated that the Late Shri Satpathy’s steadfast work ethic of working truthfully for the common people continues to inspire the younger generation. His contributions to children’s education are still relevant today. The Chief Minister garlanded the statue and paid a humble tribute to the Late Shri Satpathy.

It is noteworthy that Late Laxman Satpathy was elected as Congress’s MLA twice from the Basna region. He was born in 1937 to Pt. Jaidev Satpathy and Smt. Jashonti Devi. Late Laxman Satpathy served as a teacher in Kondagaon, Dhamtari, Bemetara, and Saraipali. He was also the national judge of Basketball alongside a qualified sports trainer. While he was a teacher in Raipur, he pursued his LL.B. and carved an identity as a fierce advocate. Late Satpathy was elected to the Assembly of Basna region for the first time in 1972 and the second time in 1977-78.  He took the charge of Fuljhar Service Committee in Saraipali to encourage education. He passed away on June 6, 2016.
