Raipur: Oil-extraction machines are being installed in Gauthans

Women are receiving opportunities for employment

Raipur, 13 April . Gauthans of the state are emerging as centers of livelihood-oriented activities and women’s self-help groups are earning through them. Income opportunities are being created in Gauthans not only from the manufacture of Vermicompost, poultry farming, pisciculture, and farming of horticulture crops, but also through the manufacture of soaps, spices, and installation of oil-extraction machines.

The instructions and announcements made by the Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel during the state-wide Bhent Mulaqat program are continuously being implemented and the common people are directly being benefitted. In this regard, as per the instructions of the Chief Minister, oil-extraction machines are being installed in Nanhesar and Pandrapat Gauthans in the Jashpur district. This oil-extraction unit, funded by the District Mineral Foundation, has become a means of livelihood for the women belonging to self-help groups. Women of self-help groups working in the two aforementioned Gauthans have expressed their gratitude to the Chief Minister for the oil extraction units.

The women of the Lakshmi Self-help group of Nanhesar Gauthan said that various livelihood-oriented activities were already being undertaken and now women are quite happy after the installation of the oil mill. The women of Nanhesar Gauthan said that so far, they have extracted 120 liters of oil, which they have sold at Rs. 200 per liter, generating an income of Rs. 24 thousand. They have also earned Rs. 9 thousand by selling the meal.
