Chief Secretary Amitabh Jain reviews priority schemes of the state government

Reviews schemes of skill development, technical education and employment, school education, and village industries departments

Raipur 13 April . Chief Secretary Shri Amitabh Jain on Thursday reviewed the top priority schemes of the State Government in the Mantralaya Mahanadi Bhawan, including schemes of skill development, technical education and employment, school education, and village industries departments. The meeting reviewed important schemes including Employment Mission, ITI development, unemployment allowance, Atmanand School, maintenance of schools, establishment of world class school, and Chhattisgarh Mahtari Dular yojana.

The meeting was attended by the Chief Minister’s Additional Chief Secretary Shri Subrat Sahoo, School Education Principal Secretary Dr. Alok Shukla.

During the review of the government’s priority schemes, officials provided an update on the process for providing an allowance to unemployed individuals under the Unemployment Allowance Scheme. According to the officials, in accordance with the Chief Minister’s announcement, online applications for unemployment allowance have been invited starting April 1. They further stated that to date, over 46,000 applications have been received, with thousands more being received daily. The applications are being physically verified, and the bank accounts of the applicants are being confirmed. Upon verification of the bank accounts, eligible applicants will receive the unemployment allowance via direct bank transfer starting May 1 this year.

The government is developing state technical institutes as technological hubs under ITI upgradation. This will require a cost of Rs 1216.80 crore to upgrade 36 government ITIs. The cooperation of the corporate sector is being sought for this initiative. In the meeting, discussions were held on the newly established Swami Atmanand Schools, which aims to provide quality education to students in both English and Hindi mediums. Detailed discussions were held on school buildings, teacher recruitment, and other arrangements.

The officials also said that a world-class residential school will be established in Sector 32 of Nava Raipur. A review was conducted regarding the progress made so far on this matter. Officials said that the construction work of the school building has been completed up to the foundation level. Administrative approval of Rs 49.52 crore has been given for the various works of the school.

Chhattisgarh Mahtari Dular Yojana provides scholarships to children who have lost their parents due to Covid-19. Under the scheme, students in grades 1 to 8 are given an annual scholarship of Rs 5,000, while students in grades 9 to 12 receive Rs 10,000. Additionally, the government reimburses the school fees for all students studying in private schools from grades 1 to 12. The meeting was attended by Energy Secretary Shri Ankit Anand, Technical Education and Employment Secretary Shri Topeshwar Verma, School Education Secretary Dr. S. Bharathidasan and senior officials of the Education Department.
