Happiness amongst farmers after Chief Minister’s announcement, thanked the Chief Minister and said that they will receive more profits now

Quantity of paddy purchased at support price increased from 15 quintals per acre to 20 quintals per acre

Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel has made a big announcement in the interest of farmers. He has announced the purchase of paddy at support price of 20 quintals per acre. There is a wave of happiness amongst farmers after this announcement. Welcoming this decision, the farmers have said that now they will be able to sell more paddy, which will enable them to make more profits as well.

Expressing his happiness at this decision, farmer Krishna Rajwade from Jampara under Baikunthpur Development Block in Koriya District said that he sold 28 quintals of paddy in the last season and is now cultivating crops like tomatoes and cauliflower on his land. He has earlier made many profits by selling paddy, and now he can sell more paddy after the 20 quintals per acre of purchase.

Farmer Koleshwar Singh of Potridand said that he has sold about 42 quintals of paddy this year. After the Chief Minister’s decision of increasing the quantity of paddy purchased at support price from 15 quintals per acre to 20 quintals per acre, he will not be worried about selling extra paddy.

Farmer Tejprakash Rajwade of Odgi village said that she sows paddy on 2.5 acres of land, he had sold 15 quintals last time. When his family came to know about this announcement, they were very happy, because this decision will enable farmers like him to make more profits. He thanked the Chief Minister for this announcement.

It is noteworthy that the Appropriation Bill 2023 was passed in the Legislative Assembly after discussion. The Chief Minister said that farmers are the backbone of our state’s economy. The whole world is on the verge of a food crisis. The main reason behind this state is that farming has become unproductive for farmers. The Chhattisgarh Government is empowering farmers through various welfare schemes. The Government is providing them the benefit of input subsidy and is now going to increase the amount of paddy purchased at support price per acre from 15 quintals to 20 quintals.
