Crop pesticides and Jeevamrit is also being manufactured from Gaumutra

The Mahatma Gandhi Rural Industrial Park scheme (RIPA) is writing a new chapter of independence and success. Besides these, the process of manufacturing natural paint from cow dung has also started in the entire state. Women from self-help groups are manufacturing paint from cow dung after undergoing training in Gauthans.

Under the instructions of Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel, approval for 42 manufacturing units in the state for preparing natural paint from cow dung has been given. Out of these, 13 manufacturing units have been established while 29 units in 21 districts are under process. The government has ordered the compulsory use of natural paint manufactured from cow dung in all government offices.

Under the Mahatma Gandhi Rural Industrial Park Yojana, a unit for manufacturing natural paint from cow dung has been established in Majhganwa in the Koriya district. The process of training women from the Pragati Self-help group has also started. Within 15 days, the group has manufactured 800 liters of paint, out of which 500 liters have already been sold. The approximate price of the paint is Rs. 60,000. The natural paint, thus manufactured, is being sold in the open market through the medium of C-Mart.

Natural paint is environment-friendly

The natural paint prepared from cow dung is antibacterial, anti-fungal, eco-friendly, natural heat insulating, economical, free from heavy metals, non-toxic, and odor-free. Considering these properties of natural paint made from cow dung, the Chhattisgarh Government has issued orders for its compulsory use in all government offices.

Rural women are earning profits from the manufacture of paint

The first step in the procedure of manufacturing natural paint from cow dung is the thorough mixing of cow dung with water in a machine. The mixture is then passed through a fine mesh to remove insoluble particles. Thereafter, it is bleached by using certain chemicals and then steamed. After this process, a substance called C.M.S. is produced, from which products like distemper and emulsion are obtained. Under the Mahatma Gandhi Rural Industrial Park Yojana, the manufacture of natural paint from cow dung is empowering women from self-help groups economically. Moreover, the production of natural paint is increasing in accordance with its popular demand.
