CG NEWS : Korba district ranks first in the state in timely wage payment

 99.72 percent FTO released in time frame
 Rs 91 crore wage payment done

Korba, 27 February . Korba district has led the state in timely payment of compensation for work done under the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act. So far this year, 99.72 percent of Fund Transfer Orders (FTO) have been issued within the district’s time limit for wage payment. Wages totaling Rs 90.99 crore have been paid into the accounts of workers in the district so far in the financial year 2022-23.
 
Collector Mr. Sanjeev Jha conducts continual evaluation and monitoring of MNREGA, as a result of which Korba district ranks first in the state in terms of timely payment of payments. Collector Korba previously instructed the Chief Executive Officer and Program Officer of all District Panchayats to submit cash transfer orders within 8 days of the closure of the muster roll in order to ensure 100% timely wage payment in MNREGA works.

Shri Nutan Kanwar, Chief Executive Officer, District Panchayat Korba said that in this financial year 2022-23, 99.92 percent in district panchayat Korba, 99.9 percent in Kartla, 98.9 percent in Katghora, 99.61 percent in Pali and 99.84 percent in district Panchayat Podi Uproda F.T.O. has been issued within a specified time frame.

Similarly, till February 21, 2023, Rs 14.58 crore in district panchayat Korba, Rs 11.63 crore in Kartla, Rs 6.61 crore in Katghora, Rs 25.67 crore in Pali, Rs 30.05 crore in district panchayat Podi Uproda and Rs 2.42 crore in other implementing agency’s accounts. Wages have been paid and CEO Zila Panchayat informed that as per the demand in the district, labour-oriented works are being made available to a maximum number of labourers, so that the villagers can get more employment opportunities
