North Bastar Kanker, 24 February . Under the ambitious scheme of Godhan Nyay Yojna of the state government, various income-oriented innovations are being carried out in the Gauthans of the district. Through this scheme, different means of self-employment have become a significant financial support for the rural populace, and more and more beneficiaries under this scheme are getting benefitted by it constantly. Along with the production of Vermicompost, the women associated with self help groups are cultivating vegetables and are pursuing in other income oriented activities and earning substantial incomes as well..
The tribal dominated village Potgaon, situated at a distance of about 27 kilometers from the district headquarters, is known for its development. Under the State Dairy Entrepreneurship Development Scheme, 05 milk producing cows were given to the tribal women associated with the self-help groups as the second installment. Collector Dr. Priyanka Shukla has provided the amount of contribution to the women of self-help groups from the District Mineral Trust Fund. The women of the group have earned an income of up to Rs 10,000 from the cow donated earlier. 50-60 liters of milk is being produced by dairy farming per day and an income of Rs 01 lakh 02 thousand has been generated by the women associated with the self help group from the sale of milk. Along with this, an additional profit of Rs 02 thousand 500 has been obtained from the production of insecticides from cow urine and a profit of Rs 12 thousand from the sale of cow dung. In this way, an income of Rs 01 lakh 16 thousand 500 has been earned by the group. The women of the group are happy and satisfied after getting benefits from this scheme which is proving to be a mile stone towards women empowerment in the rural areas of the state. The women of the self help groups expressed gratitude to the Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel for implementing the Dairy Entrepreneurship Development Scheme and Livelihood Promotion.
