NTPC Lara is moving fast for capacity addition : ED Diwakar Kaushik

RAIGARH, 16 February . If everything will work on its way, very soon NTPC Lara station will become the power hub of Chhattisgarh as it provides 50 percent of generated electricity to home state. Being a developing industry-based state, power demand of Chhattisgarh state is increasing very fast and to maintain the growth rate, electricity is very much essential. As Lara power houses of power major NTPC Limited provides half of generated capacity hence it is going to be a major source of power supplier for Chhattisgarh. Present generating capacity of Lara station is 1600 megawatt. Another 1600 megawatt has been proposed by NTPC to build at the existing plant. Public hearing has been slated on 20th February by CECB said Diwakar Kaushik in press interaction held on 16 Feb. 2023.


In current FY 2022-23. Lara station generated 10076.84 million units with 81.75 percent PLF. All efforts are being done to achieve 100% ash utilization. Lara station is giving priority to community development. After 10 years of establishment the result of developmental works starts to be visible. Before NTPC coming to this place, the picture of backwardness was widely visible. But after execution of so many developmental works and activities in the vicinity, these villages have got a new identity. Various developmental activities on education, health, sanitation, infrastructure, and welfare measures starts visible in this area. First time Lara successfully conducted Girl Empowerment Mission at Lara. Some big ticket works, attributed to NTPC Lara are construction of IIIT Raipur, upgradation of Raigarh Govt. medical college, development of ITI Pussore, upgradation of KIT, Raigarh and CHC Pussore and PHC Chhapora.
Among other dignitaries Akhilesh Singh, GM (O&M), Rajeev Ranjan, GM (Fuel Management), Samarendra Kumar Roy, GM (Operation), Ravi Shankar, GM (Project), Kanheya Das, AGM(HR) and HoDs were present on this occasion.
